How a session works

Book & arrive

Book a seat online and arrive 10 minutes early to sign in with our host. We'll mind your car keys.

Heat

15 to 20 minutes in the wood-fired sauna. Loosen up, breathe, chat or sit quietly.

Plunge

Cool off in the Shannon, or just sit out in the fresh air. Your call.

Repeat

Go round again for the hour. Bring swimwear, two towels, water and a smile.

Sauna rules

Eight simple rules.

So everyone gets a safe, easy hour by the river. Sign in with the host when you arrive.

18+ onlyAdults only. No exceptions.
Swimwear onSwimsuit or trunks. No metal fastenings.
Sit on a towelBring one to sit on, one to dry off.
Arrive clear-headedNo alcohol or drugs before your session.
15–20 minutes maxPer round. Cool down in between.
Jewellery offAnd no creams or lotions.
Mind the steamOnly pour water when no one's by the stove.
Feel unwell? Step outLeave straight away and tell the host.

Our story

Two years on the Shannon

Two years on the Shannon in Limerick and Clare, and the idea is still the same: good heat, cold water, fresh air, good company.

Every session has a host who lights the stove, signs you in and can point out the safest spot to get into the river. Come on your own and you'll leave knowing a few new faces.
